Therefore each year of a dog's life is equal to 7 years of a human's life.
This is not accurate mainly becosue of two reasons:
- The longest-lived breeds have an average lifespan which is double that of the shortest-lived breeds.
- The small breeds have a relatively shorter childhood as they have a total life span of around 15 years and they reach maturity by 1 year.
