Eye Discharge
Abnormal discharge of eye should not be taken lightly. It may develop suddenly or may be a gradual process. You must keep a check on your dogs eye in order to nip the problem in the butt.
The eye discharge can be caused by a minor problem like an irritant in the eye like dust or it may due to some bacterial infection. There can be various causes; few of them are as follows –
- Lens Displacement
- Inflamed Eyelids
- Inflamed Iris
- Infections like – conjunctivitis
- Injury to the Eye
- High blood pressure (Glaucoma)
You can treat it initially at home but it continues for more than two days then you must consult your vet.
Home Treatment
The eye should be carefully washed and cleaned gently with warm / moist cloth. Human Eye medicines or drop available over the counter should not be administered.. Do not allow you dog to rub the eye as it can elevate the problem.
