Dog Advice – Avoiding Fights In the Multi Dog Household

People who have multiple dogs often face this problem and the important factor to avoid fighting amongst the dogs is for you to keep in mind the following point -

1. You must be the most dominant member of the pack. You must command the respect of all the dogs of the household and must be obeyed.
2. You must uphold the dominance of the most dominant dog. Most fights in occur because of a desire of one dog to take over the command position. It is important that you mixed signals because a dog that may be attempting a takeover may take the opportunity to take over dominance by force if he thinks there is any question.

How to handle
1. Do not interfere in the fight with you body parts like - trying to physically separate the dogs with his own body.
2. Use voice command like – “No” / “Stop”.
3. If commands do not work use something like a cloth, blanket or bucket to cover the dominant dog’s face and take him to away.
