Dog Training – DOWN

“DOWN” command means the dog should lie down on this command. Usually this command is taught after the SIT command and is very simple for dogs to pick up.
Here is a step by step procedure -

1. Get the dog in Sit position by giving the SIT command.
2. Hold a treat under his nose.
3. Give the command “DOWN” in a firm voice.
4. Slowly bring the treat straight down keeping it under his nose.
5. The dog should lie down
6. Give him the treat and praise him
7. Repeat this few times.
8. Practice this often till you dog become perfect.
9. You can remove the Treat later but make sure to treat him as and when required.
